Is SFCC an accredited Institution?

Yes, SFCC is accredited through The National Healthcareer Association (NHA). NHA is an independent accrediting organization serving technical schools throughout the U.S. for nearly 30 years. It’s the same kind of accreditation process colleges and universities must undergo. In addition, the following organizations also certify SFCC’s courses American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).

How long has Special Friend Community (SFCC) operated?

SFCC opened its doors in June 2014 and has been training students on the Southside of Chicago.

What if I can’t afford a course I want to take?

We recommend prospective phlebotomy students look into Family Legacy Foundation, Choice Acts NFP, and WIOA. Please inquire about financial support and other options.

How soon can I complete the initial course?

Our BLS CPR and IV Tech courses are as little as one day only.  The phlebotomy course can be completed in as little as eight weeks. We accommodate a wide array of schedules, however, we offer less intensive phlebotomy course schedules, as well.

What other courses can I take at SFCC?

We offer the courses you need to enter fields such as Clinical Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, and IV Technician. No other Allied health program can do more to prepare you for a healthcare career.

What are the prerequisites I need to fulfill before registering at SFCC?

Prerequisites are:
 • High school diploma or GED
 • The minimum required is a Phlebotomy,Allied Health Limited X-ray training, Medical Office Assistant or IV Tech course. 
Completion of an Illinois State Criminal History Background Check is required for any programs unless you are waived by the Director. (Cost of the criminal background check is $20.
